Sometimes, anxiety is a natural response to stress. It is normal to feel anxious about an upcoming situation or event that is important such as an exam or wedding. However, some people experience anxiety more frequently and without a known cause. When anxiety is frequent and overwhelming it will begin to interfere in your day to day life function, you may even feel like you are losing control, and maybe you feel like your anxiety has taken control of your life.
Finding the best solution to manage your anxiety is different for everyone. We will talk about the causes of your anxiety, and develop a plan to help you take control over your thinking, and to manage your anxious feelings. We will figure out the root cause of your anxiety together and stop the overwhelming questions that you experience. Anxiety is very common these days with all the pressures of life and responsibility. The good news is there ARE coping skills to minimize anxiety and diminish it all together. We have to identify what coping skills will work for you individually. Anxiety shows itself in many forms. Uncovering the cause of your anxiety is a key to recovery and together we will address these root causes. Once we address the root causes, the anxiety does not have the power it had before. We address the causes of anxiety which will minimize the effects of it.
By learning about anxiety and the causes of it, I have discovered that this in itself minimizes the symptoms and effects of anxiety as well. I have also discovered that many people who experience anxiety also struggle with low self-esteem.
